I need ideas for how to rat proof a specific area. I'd thought everything was rat proofed, but the most adventurous of my girls proved me wrong! The heater in the room has an area along the bottom she can get into. The heat isn't on right now, but I'm worried about her getting burned when the heat does come on. My first instinct was to put wire o some sort along the bottom, but I'm worried that the heat would transfer to the carpet and start a fire. Any ideas? Here's a picture of the type of heater in the apartment (obliviously not a picture I took, but it's the same general type of heater).
