I am planning on going on a week long trip and i want to bring my rats. I have two males and I am looking for a big plastic dog crate to keep them in because I have seen this work well for other People and I was wondering what the minimum should be for this travel cage I found one that is relatively cheap and is 600 square inches of floor space. I don’t know if this is large enough and if anyone knows that would be very helpful. Also if anyone knows of a good temporary cage for this trip that would be nice. Preferably under 50$

For two rats on a short 1 week trip, the cage really doesn't need to be huge, especially if they'll be getting a little bit of time out of the cage. I'd think that a cage as small as 3-5 cubic feet would be just fine. You could look into converting a dog crate or you could make a bin cage or find something used on marketplace or craigslist or similar apps. I'd probably shoot for as much width as possible rather than height.
