Does anyone know of rats vets near the New York Hudson Valley area? I'm really struggling to find one and the vet I go to now (Newburgh Vet) is extremely expensive and starting to slip in my standards of care. I think that my little guy might need surgery after getting medicine for a lump that's not getting better or worse around his penis area. I'm trying to fin something a little cheaper as close as possible. I just cant afford another 700-900 dollar surgery. Unless this is normal pricing for rats then I'll just have to save up as fast as I can to get him help.

I am pretty sure that is normal pricing for rats. Also be careful with surgery its all super high risk stuff. Like i don't even want mine castrated because i wouldn't want to put them through that kinda pain.

I would say that’s a pretty typical price for a surgery, but you’re right in that there are probably cheaper vets out there. Not sure if this is helpful, but after a quick google search, this showed up!

Definitely do more research about it as I’m not sure what the pricing is, but they accept exotic animals and can do growth removals. They have good ratings too!
