I have been communicating with a girl who is trying to rehome her two 6 month old male rats. She is in the Albany, NY area, but she/I would be willing to travel half way to the new owner. They are both very tame and have been handled frequently from a young age. One is a beige hooded and one is a black hooded. If she can't find a good home for them within the next 3-4 weeks, I am going to foster them until I rehome them or turn them into one of the nearby rescues.

Please let me know if anyone is interested in adopting these guys. :D

Perhaps if you post some pictures you might rouse a little more interest? Also, it might help to give details of why they are being re-homed - for example, is it because of behavioral issues, sickness that she can't afford to cover, or is she simply just moving and can't take them with her? Are they neutered? All of these things will help potential new owners decide if they would like to take in the rats.

I hope you find a good home for them.

I don't have pics. The girl said she would send them, but she hasn't responded to my emails in the last week. I sent her some links to a nearby rescue, so she could post about them there, and possibly surrender them, but I haven't heard back from her. They are not neutered.

She said the reason she's rehoming them is because she began going to grad school, and between that and her full time job, she doesn't have enough time to spend with them anymore. I told her that I would be more than happy to arrange the rescue, and ultimately take them off her hands so that they're not turned over to a pet store, and she seemed receptive. I guess we'll see what happens.
