Red lump on side of rats face

Hello,

Today I noticed that one of my male rats has a small red lump on the side of his face where his whiskers are. His behaviour and everything else seems to be fine. I don't know if it's a scab or something else, but I thought I'd better post it on here and get some opinions!

I'm thinking it might be an abscess?
Please can someone help, I'm so worried!

I would do a warm compress (follow the instructions on the abscess sticky) to see if you can get any pus out. It almost looks like an ingrown whisker hair to me at this point.
