OK, Im not saying Im going to cus I think it may be a huge undertaking but Im am thinking of starting a rescue charity.
Maybe a central register for non rescue centre rescue rats that exepts payment from the people adopting and passes it to to people who fostered them. This would give the oppertunity to regulate it a bit, discorrage people buying for snake food, say thankyou to the fosted homes. Rats being fostered in homes on a small scale must be good for them instead of bigger rescuse and it must be a rewarding thing to do.
I feel like its a very good idea and the prospect of being able to go to one site and contact most of the rats up for adoption (could also list rescue centre rats) exiting. There is also the potential for people donating and then the funds being availible for rats-maybe registered rescue homes could apply for reinbursement after an expensive rescue.

neat neat! i'd say start with a good website, one with it's own address (although it costs some annual fee). it can be used by potential surrenders/adopters, etc. to gain info about you and what you do, about alternatives, etc. it also gives you an air of professionalism, etc. you can even get the website in perfect order before you start the actual rescue, i think that's a good idea so that people can get a feel for what's going on?
