Is there a certain age when rats generally begin rusting? Or does it happen at any age? Today I noticed that my black berky's rear is turning brown. I'm curious because I'm really not sure of her age, so maybe this will give me a better idea! I estimate around 7 months. Also, do black rats rust all over? Or is it just in some areas?

my guy started rusting at about 3 months old but i suppose it could happen later or earlier

it is where they turn reddish my Jackson is an agouti and he has a red butt LoL

Jack's rusted a bit, but I changed their diet a little and he's mostly black again.

Don't think so. There was nothing on his skin, he was just slightly reddish/brown at the back.


I suppose it could have been.
