If anyone has one of them, could you tell me what size you found to be appropriate for your rats?

The large size is better for rats. I have a small space pod that I bought when my rats were babies, but now that they are full grown only one of them can fit in it at a time.

I only have Sputniks but I'd imagine one is no better than the other. I've never heard otherwise.

The Space Pod comes in a purple/teal color combo. The Sputnik comes in a variety of colors if you want to spend more money.

I bought the Savic XL but takes up too much space in my cage. I have 2 small as I can't find anything larger other than xl

The Savic XL is what I prefer to use, but I havent used any other brand, so I assume they are pretty much the same design wise. Started with the smaller size but I didn't like how cramped they were, neither did the rats. The XL fits multiple rats plus nesting materials....Or one large potato.
