Hi there, ive got a problem with one of my rats and could really do with some help. He has got white scabs on one of his ears, and there gettin more widespread on his ear. Its only on one of his ears, and my other rat is fine. could anyone give me any advise on what it might be, and also how i go about solving it. Thanks.

It's probably those weird ear mite things. Left untreated by medication and a vet it could possibly eat up his whole ear D: I recomend taking him to the vet a.s.a.p cause that can't be good.

Looks like sarcoptic mites. You need to tell the vet that you have another rat as he will need some medication too, to prevent infection/get rid of any infection that's already there.

It's pretty easy to treat i think, but he definately needs a trip to the vets

Thanks for all your help, ive spoken to the vets and they dont seem to know what it is, been given antibiotics though. Hopefully should see an improvement. If not i'll be goin to another vets. Thanks

If it is those mites, you will need to be prescribed Invetermicin or Selamectin.
