My three younger females who are all around 16 weeks old moved in with my two older females (a little over a year old) about four days ago. Everything's been going well, they cuddle and groom and I often find all five of them asleep in one big fluffy pile. The only problem is that they squabble over food and i'm not sure how to stop it. Weirdly enough fresh fruit and veggies are shared very well between them but as soon as i put their dry food in all **** breaks loose. I've tried telling them 'no' they understand and stop for a moment but then as soon as i turn my back i hear them squeaking at each other again. I've also tried putting the food in five separate piles around the cage in the hope that they'll eat separately but as soon as one even brushes against another they squabble! I'd separate them to feed them only i mostly don't have the time as i've just started working night shifts and don't get home till 7:00am (after a ten hour shift!) i'm so tired i juat need to feed them, give them some quick cuddles and then catch up on my sleep till the afternoon.

Will this problem go away on it's own after time or will it always be an issue? If any of you guys have any experience or tips for me i'd really appreciate it! :)

Id scatter feed. so good is scattered all over the cage. Ideally buried in the substrate. This will help keep then busy digging up the food and hunting for it. They may still squeak at each other if they get to closer but it should cut it down. It's also much better for then add it helps keep them busy and active through the day

I had this problem when I introed a young male to my three older males. I fixed it by pairing my calmest older boy and younger boy on the lower level with in food dish, and the other two had a bowl on the top. I would place them together the first few times, but eventually, they started pairing up when they saw the food coming.
