I want to give my rats some variation in their lives. I found that they can have a bit of rice straw in their cage, but I think I only have wheat straw in my area. I sometimes give them some of my rabbits Timothy and orchard to nibble on, but it's expensive and I'd rather keep it for my rabbits to eat.
Does anyone know if it's okay to give them some wheat straw to chew on?

It seems safe- I went browsing in another rat forum I'm in for "wheat straw" and the results say that it's not only fine to chew on, but it's also fine to eat. (I would personally still be careful about letting them eat it though)

I guess I'll get them some straw and watch them for awhile to see how they react and see if they eat it. If they don't like it or eat it then my rabbits would probably like it in a dig box
