Hi there, I think one of my boys got bitten on the toe. I washed the wound when it initially happened and have been monitoring it the past couple of days. Up until today he was using it fine and it wasn't painful to touch. However it's very swollen today and he now squeaks when I touch it and is very reluctant to use it. I have him booked into a vet for Monday morning but is there anything I should/can do in the mean time to reduce his discomfort? Thanks!

It might be an abscess. You can try putting a warm, wet cloth on the bump and seeing if pus swells to the top. Similarly, let him stand in warm water for a few minutes. If pus comes up, you can drain it out and keep it clean. You should try to keep the area clean either way, using a saline solution.
You could also try some children's motrin for the pain.
