Does anyone have any recomendations for quick and easy to eat treats for training rats? I'm thinking Cheerios but I'm not sure Betty likes those much (maybe I'll try the honeynut instead of plain). I'm also thinking of trying clicker training but I don't know if the clicks would scare her. Any suggestions?

i suppose if you just spend a couple days clicking it to be annoying, they would get used to the sound. and then wait a couple days before you start using the clicks with a purpose, so they start paying attention to when you click it? maybe just click it when they are getting treats so they associate the clicks with yummies. dunno, but let us know how that works, i would love to train my ratties to do some super cute stuff.

Got a magazine the other day about rats, and it had a small section on clicker training, if you want I can scan the article in for you...typing it all up would take a loooong time...lol

I'd like to see that because I have no idea what it is haha.

As for treats, you could try something appetizing like small pieces of fruit like chopped up apples. Apples are always nice =).
I give them to my rattie as his fresh fruit and he goes crazy for it, crazier then he goes for yogies so.
I guess it all depends on what your rat likes, honey nut cheerios might not be too bad. Whole grain cheerios have a subtle sweetness to them, that might be a better option.

Ok first off sorry for the billion pictures, but this was the best way for the text to be read, also I didn't include any of the pictures, because they wouldn't fit, if possible I'm going to go into my dad's work tomorrow and scan the whole magazine...lol. They are in order, I hope...lol.

Umm the magazine is called "Rats" and it's part of the "Popular Pets Series" I bought it at PetSmart, they had it along with a book on caring for your pet rats. Both are very good. I will try to find a site where you can buy it, but I think they are mostly in pet stores...
