Just before I ask the question I just want to say this .. I'm a big worry wart when it comes to rats, so some of my posts may seem a bit overdone. Sorry about that! :D

Anyway ... at the moment in Australia it's nearing it's hot seasons. Even though it's hot, I've somehow managed to catch a cold. Now this may not seem like a big deal, but one of my friends said to me "It's best not to have contact with your rats when your sick, because they might catch it off you!" Is this True or False? I still want to play with my ratties, but I don't want them to get sick!

Sorry if this may seem a little over done, as I said above I'm a bit of a worry wart!

Rats and people very rarely catch anything from each other, the worst and most dangerous being Strep Pneumonia, and the itchiest would be Ring Worm, so I don't think your rats will catch your cold. :)

There are other things but they are rare.

Yeah, your rats probably can't catch it, but they may lick you a lot to make you feel better...
