I had three rats, two dislike each other and fight, and one gets along with both brothers. Sadly, my boy who got along with both brothers passed away and the two who hate each other are now stuck with each other. Sometimes they are fine, but sometimes one will get in the other’s face and start a fight. Manny bites Bleu unprovoked sometimes when Bleu is being nice or minding his own business. And sometimes Bleu is the aggressor and chases Manny and possibly scares him. They are separated now, they don’t fight between the bars but sometimes they stare at each other menacingly. I am not in the position to get other rats right now to help them blend into a bigger mischief. When they are supervised, they can be out together but I am stressed out about one of them getting hurt and drawing blood in the cage together. They are older boys at 1 year 8 months, so I believe neutering at this point wouldn’t be too great for them. I thought they had come a long way and settled down, but since the sweet brother passed away, they have been mean to each other. What can I do to help them?
