I currently own 3 boys and 2 girls (housed separately). I have had my boys for the longest but recently one of the boys (Teemo) has started acting quite aggressive to the other two (biting ears and scratching). I have separated him from the other two and have tried to re-introduce them multiple times but have been unsuccessful. Also one of my boys (Twich) is particularly small and nervous and gets very depressed and lethargic after this introduction process, even to the point where he has stopped cleaning himself and I have taken him to the vets. I know that introducing them again would be a bad idea for Twitch’s sake and I have been wanting to get Teemo neutered so I could possibly calm him down and either re introduce him to the boys or try introducing him to my girls however Teemo has some underlying health issues.

For Teemo’s whole life he has suffered respiratory problems and we have visited the vets multiple times had him on multiple antibiotics however as soon as his course finishes it seems to just come straight back. Because of this and a few other issues the idea of sending him in for surgery scares me as I am worried that he won’t wake up. I’m not sure if that is something I should be worried about or if I am just being over cautious... I’m not sure what my next step should be with him as I don’t want him to live a life alone but I feel my other rat is too afraid to live with him... Any advice you could possible give me would be amazing as I really don’t know what to do and I have researched into it a lot but haven’t found a solution that fits my situation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!
