I have done this without problems... they didn't seem to eat it. Can't imagine it tastes good.

I use baking soda like it is God's gift... and it wont harm them. :)

Use can use it in:

Litter boxes
Bedding
The dryer
The carpet before vacuuming
Brushing your teeth

It is the stuff of miracles.

Sparker, this is BEYOND hysterical:

"I will not resort to maniacal blood-letting with my cagemates over inconsequential things like inequality in treat size, use of the nest box, or who gets to go out the cage door first at free range time."

I think I will print it out and tape a copy on each cage and repeat it to each ratties daily!!!!! teehee!

I use baking soda on everything! Well, mostly just my small animal cages now, but when I had carpet I spread it around the house by the box. It's really one of the greatest odor control things I've ever found.
