I was in a really difficult situation this past weekend. I had to come down to Chicago for something but I couldn't find someone to watch my girls and I had no way of bringing them with. Right before I was walking out the door my neighbor fortunately stopped by and said she could watch them.
Has anyone else gone through something like this? Does anyone have any recommendations for the future incase I have to leave them?

Worst comes to worst, you could board them. I have boarded my rabbits at my vet's office, and I know they accommodate rats as well. I probably wouldn't trust just any place, but they specialize in small mammals and exotics and I had experience taking my buns there already. They even provided my elderly bun with special care (for a small fee) and administered meds. It wasn't outrageously expensive and definitely gave me peace of mind. It might be worth it to look into vets in your area, and maybe even start setting aside a small emergency vet boarding fund.
