A while back someone posted about a little better water bottle for rats. the bottle I am thinking about had a small pin/lever value instead of the normal ball value.

Are these pretty good over the standard water bottle and if so where can I find them on the internet? Thanks

I think I remember reading a review about that type of water bottle, and because the stopper is so sharp and hard to push in (hence the non-leakage) it can hurt their little tongues. :(

I wouldn't use that kind, but perhaps there are different ones that are similar and not so harsh. Check it out with your finger first and see if it hurts you, because if it's painful to a human finger, it's really going to hurt a little tongue. :(

I actually have two of those water bottles, my adult females have no trouble with them at all and I really like them because they're noiseless and dripless; However, my baby/teen boys have trouble learning how to use them so I use a basic ball spring water bottle, I just try to look for the ones that are sturdier and have a stonger spring so it's noiseless/drip proof etc. yet still easy to use.
Also, the pin water bottles seem to let out a little more water at a time, and has an easy flip top opening at the top of the bottle for reloading.

I used to have two of them and i hated them! Jackson would get his teeth around the pin and pull and flood his cage then be mad because there was water in his cage. the other one was on the girls cage and they hated it it is quiet but not really good for my rats.

I use the glass lixit bottles and it uses a vacuum to stop leakage, it works very well and the boys dont chew it!

I have only had the Lixit on a Martin's or Martin's like cage... They work perfectly. I don't think they would hold on Superpet cages and the like. I think they would on the FN's, though I'd have to test that myself. They would need closely-spaced vertical bars.

I actually prefer the way they hold the bottle to the cage. Though, like I said, they wouldn't work with all cages.
