Do you feed them also meat? cheese? milk? chocolate?
and do you add Multivitamin to their diet?

I feed them vegetables and soup with oat-flakes, sunflowergrains(?),noodles, rice. In sommer I feed them fresh grass.

And sometimes I give them meat, fish and cheese (in small amounts).

Hopefully the grass you give them is indoor grown? Outdoor grass could carry mites into the house >_>

I feed them a lab blocks stable, carrots (lots... they LOVE them so much), green peppers, broccoli, green pepper, some bananna, advacodo, orange without the rind as that's bad for them, sometimes bits of bread from my sandwich (wheat) and yeah that's mostly it. Ocasionally I will feed them healthy bits of what I'm eating, chicken, fish, rice, etc. maybe even a tiny portion of egg.

I'm thinking about creating my rats a little garden in their cages. Because they love to dig in soil. But they do that with my plants, which is what I don't really like, because I have to clean up the whole mess (they can do it in seconds  ) and I'm sure my plants don't appreciate that as well.

What do you think about that?

Of course I would use soil without fertilizer.

A digging box is a perfect idea, many owners have one for their rats.

Adding grass into the soil will make it even more fun for them, they can dig up the roots and chew on them and you can hide treats or them to find!
