Hi all,
I used to have a mischief of 4 female rats who went on to live fabulous ratty lives. At this point, I am down to one rat, the alpha of the group. She is at least 2 years and 9 months old, but other than starting to "go gray" and the slightest slowing down of her back legs, you would never know it. She was the alpha of her mischief and is still very high energy. That being said, even though I am not looking to begin a new rat saga, I feel bad about her being alone so I am making arrangements to foster one or 2 rats until the end of her life so that she won't be alone. My question is, what would be the best match? Neutered males? Young females? Older females? I have never introduced rats before, as the mischief came to me together. Thanks in advance for your help!
