So I thought Piper's tumor removal surgery went well, but it left a big flap of skin under her arm where the tumor was. No pus draining or redness, just squishy. Can this just happen after surger and heal up? just fluid that will be reabsorbed? She's already on antibiotics and I'm so worried because I have nothing left for a vet. her surgeries cost me 800. I've heard sometimes it can just be fluid that will clear up

I would call the vet and ask. Any time I have a post op concern that is what I do since they are the ones who sutured my rats and know what went on during the surgery.

Lasix apparently can take care of excess fluid build up post op, but because it is a diuretic and post op rats need to stay hydrated it may not be a good choice. Allowing the body to do its thing takes patience and sometimes that is the best medicine even though at the time we don't think so.
