Hello. This may be a rather silly question, but I am unsure as to when I can expect my girls to be full grown? I've seen some sites that say they grow for 6 months and some that say they stop growing at a year. Does anyone know at what age I can expect my ratties to stop growing? Thank you for your help! :D

If I remember rightly, I think both our girls stopped growing at around 8 months. I'm sure it varies per rat, though.

Rats' bones are pretty much done around 6mos, but for a few after that, they loose their baby fat and take on a more adult shape. :)

The mad crazy growth is up to about 4 months, after that they grow steadily til about 8 months or so, but after that they still do grow til over a year. The main growth is done by 8 months tho :)

Regarding boys' growth...

When will they mellow down? My boys are now 4(accdg to the pet shop) months old and they're as active as my girls. They even fight occasionally even though they're littermates.

Some boys never mellow down. Most of my boys are as active as my girls actually, so I don't know the answer to this, sorry. :)

"They" say about 8 months to a year, but my neutered boys are almost 11 months and no one told them!!! My other neutered boy at 14 months loves his sleep but once he's up and at 'em he's bouncing and climbing and popcorning around, so I guess thats not mellowed out either?

At 4 months both boys and girls are very similar, you should notice some of the franticness dissapate over the next few months, but they should still be active, but maybe more likely to actually stay longer than 5 seconds for a cuddle?
