My rat, Alice, prefers to lay and sleep in a corner on the wire floor in her cage instead of in the igloo on the soft bedding or the shoe I put in the cage.

Why does she like it there better?

Its just her spot I guess. She feels more comfortable sleeping there, doesnt mean theres anyting wrong with it. I say let her. Is the whole of your cage floor wire? You may want to try putting a towel or two down or bedding so its easier on her feet, and does your Alice have a friend?

NVM I just saw your cage on another thread. Theres nothing to worry about, she just enjoys sleeping in that spot, lol. My Silent Bob likes to sleep at the very top of the cage in a hammock and Jay likes to sleep either in his pink hammock or his cornor bed with his head hanging off. Each has there own fav spot, so nothing to worry about. They also have an Igloo that they almost never use...

My boys like sleeping in their hammies and their boxes... but they like curling up on the shelves just as much.

I consider it a good thing because they don't feel the need to hide to go to sleep. :)
