Heya all!

I just adopted 3 5-month-old rats. I've been working on the patience method of bonding with myself as they all seem to freeze and then move very suddenly. The previous owners told me they were quite skittish.

I managed to get them to come to my hand and eat some yummies today. I have two 2 year old boys who are in a separate cage in another room who are super confident and love people. I will eventually be bonding them with the younger boys but I'm just wondering whether to wait until they are a little more confident or if bonding them sooner will bring them out of their shell and in a calmer state.

Thanks!

Rats definitely learn from each other so when the younger boys see that your older boys are not only fearless around you but actually affectionate with you, it will absolutely help them bond with you. Your older boys will lead by example.
