So I need to get my rat a new chew stick but my dad says I can just give her a bone to chew on but I'm wary about doing that. Is it safe for rats to chew on bones?

I know this may sound odd, but are the bones raw or cooked? I know you can only do raw bones for cats & dogs (i.e. raw feeding or BARF diets), but not sure for rats...
Doesn't matter for rats- the problem with cats and dogs is that they splinter and can hurt them but rats chew them in a different way so this isn't a problem.
I give them cooked bones all the time. Basically any leftover bones from our dinners. They love it. They go absolutely mad for soup bones especially when it's drenched in soup.
Bones are excellent, as mentioned! Raw or cooked, regardless of the animal from which the bones came (unless it was wild!) are all great.
