I have come here for some help and advice.
I have two rattie babies whom I love very much. I had noticed that they both had symptoms of an upper respiratory infection after I brought them home, so I took them to the vet and they gave me baytril and doxycycline (liquid) to give to them orally through a syringe. They both got better after a couple of weeks (this was about a couple of months ago). However, one of my ratties is starting to flare up again. It is a choking noise that happens 2-3 times daily. I still have the medications on hand, though I am almost out of Baytril. I am hoping to get through this without a visit to the vet, though if it is absolutely necessary, I will have to convince my parents to take her back to the vet (it was very expensive last time, which didn't make them happy at all). Does doxycycline only work when it is administered with baytril, or will it work alone? If not, is there anywhere I can buy more baytril (22.7 mg/ml)?
I'll take any advice I can get. It worries me when my baby is sick.
