my rats get VERY excited after i give them a tomato. I dunno what it is but they start sprinting about the cage and wrestling like crazy.

mine went absolutely bonkers over fresh coconut that was still clinging to the hard outside shell

I broke up a coconut into a bunch of pieces, cut a bunch of the flesh out for us & left a bit for them. I put all the pieces into the cages because after the first couple pieces were placed in it looked like piranha attacking with 11 girls playing tug-of-war over a single piece.

After they finished eating all the sweet white meat of the shell they played chase with the hard leftover pieces -- often trading each other for proffered larger pieces, running/skipping off in different directions with their prize they successfully stole from their sister.

I already plan on doing this again in the near future because I cursed at the fact my video camera was in my girlfriend's car & she was at work & I didn't have it at home where the fun was happening.

My boy absolutly loves turkey! Around thanksgiving we gave him a little helping of just about everything that was left over and he was in heavan.

I prefer not to use the lunch meat kind but the unprocessed stuff bacause of the whole less chemicals thing.

I've actually never had a rattie that didn't go nuts for turkey. I think sometimes people forget that rats are omnivors, and as much as they love fruits, veggies, and grains, they also enjoy some meat (poultry and fish).

My rats are total dorks and don't like the typical foods rats seem to love. Their favorite thing at the moment is bread. Yep plain whole grain bread. They don't like chicken, they don't like hot dogs, they don't like cheese, they will barely touch a yoggie, they don't eat peas and veggies like other peoples rats do. They go nuts over weird things like bread, mixed steamed veggies heaven forbid you put them in there cold and un-cooked they won't touch them and actually look at you like you have a third eye. They love their juice cubes which I make with veggie and fruit juice in the juicer and then freeze in ice cube trays. Their weirdo's! But that's why I love em!

My boys go absolutely insane for Hot dogs and Ramen, those instant noodles.

they'll run up the sides of the cage, Jump onto you and wrestle and nip you for the stuff, They've gone so far as to open my mouth and take things from inside. lol

Uncooked pasta, pizza crust, frozen or steamed mixed veggies..... my boys pretty much go nuts over any and all "people" food.
I discovered tonight that Arthur is the hoarder in the group. He has a nice stash in the bottom corner, but seems to have forgotten it already. Silly sweet boys!
